  The canning factory is an important factor towards the development and building of that section, and we may add that more factories will not harm the place.  (SCE 12/10/1892)(SCE, orders for our boom edition continue to roll in.  We have just received an order for 100 from Messrs. G.W.   Dunbar, Mr. Geo. H., and family spent Saturday and Sunday at the Bay.  Mr. Dunbar spends every summer at his palatial home in Biloxi, and together with his family left Biloxi aboard Mr. Lopez's steam tug for this point to make connections that evening with the southbound train.  When opposite the Pass the boat ran aground and afterward lost its rudder.  Notwithstanding this, with skiffs and a cat-rigged, the Bay was finally reached, just in time to miss the train.  (SCE 10/21/1893)

Dupre, Alice - On Wednesday Mrs. Stanley Holmes gave a picnic party to Calleryville in honor of Mrs. Annie Avery.  The day was most charmingly spent on the Callery place and the party entertained by Mrs. Callery and her charming daughters in a pleasing and hospitable manner..  Among the picnicers were the following-named:  Mrs. Stanley Holmes, Mrs. A. Avery, Mrs. Dupre, Miss Alice Dupre, Miss Ella Richards, Misses Blanche Avery, Mamie Cutter, Miss J. Welsh, Mr. Bowman.

 

Dupre, Miss Alice, one of the Crescent City's fairest daughters, was here on a visit to friends Thursday.

  Mrs. Dupre, who is stopping with Mrs. Chevally's, was painfully stung on the forehead by a catfish.  Medical attention was immediately given.

Dupre, Walter -  On Sunday evening the competitions for a gold watch, a boat and a gold head walking cane were brought to a close on Sunday evening at the residence of Rev. Father Leduc and Rev. Father Alphonse.  Messrs. Planchet, Woods and Merilh were the counting comittee.  The following is the result: The watch competition--Miss Blanche Avery, $135.85; Miss Louise Joubert,$44.00; Miss Florestine Fayard, $27.90; Miss Eda Villar, $31.05; Miss Catherine Spotorno, $5.30.  The boat-Master Willie Robinson, $56.52, Gaston Telhiard, $31.75; Walter Dupre, $7.55.  Miss A.  Wagner collected $86.50 for the walking cane which was awarded to Rev.
