The editor returns thanks and his good wishes to Mrs. C. Gardebled for a present of some fine oranges and a basket full of pecans all grown on her place.  The oranges are the finest we have yet seen this year, and the pecans beat any in this town, measuring from an inch to an inch and one half in length.  Such gifts are truly appreciated. Gardebled, Mrs. C. (Celine) - There is a movement on foot to organize a ladies benevolent association in Bay St. Louis.  Mrs. C.  Gardebled and other such spirited ladies are at the helm of the worthy project. Such beneficial organizations are successfully operated in other larger and smaller cities than ours and such an organization should exist here as well.  (SCE 01/07/1893)

 

Scranton, Mrs. Dr. G.W. and daughters, Misses May, Ruby and Rita Scranton, visited her son, Master Gustav Scranton and Master John Craig, two collegians of St. Stanislaus' commercial college on Friday, while here were the guests of Mrs. C. (Celine) Gardebled. (SCE 01/14/1893)

Gardebled, Mrs. C. (Celine).  There will be a regular meeting of the Ladies' Mutual and Aid Association on Thursday, the 16th, inst., at 4 o'clock at the residence of Mrs. C. (Celine)  Gardebled.  This meeting will be one of unusual interest and a full attendance is urged.  (SCE 3/11/1893)

Gardebled - On last Saturday evening, the 15th, the lovely garden grounds of the Gardebled residence presented a scene of much amusement.  The occasion was a Lawn Party and Minstrel Drama followed with dancing til 2'o'clock  Sunday morning.  The minstrel performance was very pleasing and took with people who have seen and understand a good thing. The lemonade table was presided over by Miss Fanny McCorry who, having sold most, received a silver medal in recognition of her services.  Mrs. A. Basford presided over the ice cream table.  The awarding of a silver medal to best lady dancer aroused great interest and proved a prominent feature of the evening.  The band furnished plenty and excellent music.  To be brief and to say the least of the affair, we can say it was a big success. Gardebled, Mrs. C. (Celine) The regular monthly meeting of the Ladies' Minerva Mutual and Aid Association was held on Thursday evening at the home of Mrs. C. (Celine) Gardebled. There was a good attendance; the condition of the Association proved to be in a flourishing condition, having several hundred dollars clear of debt on hand. (SCE 09/23/1893)
