Gates, F. L. - The second race between the "AUGUSTA" and the "SUSIE" took place on Sunday at Mississippi City and was won by the former. The race was triangular one of about eight miles. The following gentlemen officiated: F. L. Gates and A. M. Delavalade, the judges; R.D. Faure, times. Winning this race entitles the "AUGUSTA" to the first prize - a handsome silver punch bowl and ladle; the "Susie", getting second prize, a handsome clock. (SCE 8/6/1892)

Gayton, Miss Zoe - On Wednesday morning the champion female long distance walker Miss Zoe Gayton, arrived in the Bay at about seven o'clock. After breakfast she left the Bay for New Orleans. The last heard from her was on Wednesday to the effect that she was at English Lookout and sick with a chill, however, she was expected in New Orleans yesterday. Miss Gayton is walking from New York to San Francisco for a purse and wager. (SCE/10/15/1892)
