Hyatt: Being researched by Mrs. Ronald G. Bourgeois, 2523 Constance Street. New Orleans, La. 70130. Her mother’s sister was Mary Norvinger Hyatt who had a son Albert Benjamin Hyall who lived in BSL about 1904-1910. Mrs Bergeois thinks perhaps her aunt was buried in BSL but I find no record of it. However, the Catholic records list
Hilda Louise Hyall, born 5/19/1910 as being the daughter of Albert Hyatt & Antonia LaCamera and being baptized on 6/12/1910. Notify Mrs. Bourgeois of any additions. (CHG)

Icyda, Mr. A., The auditorium of the school house was filled to overflowing on Friday evening with the culture and refinement of Bay St. Louis to attend the lecture and stereopticon views on Japan, by Mr. A. Icyda; Japanese gentleman and scholar, a graduate from the University at Washington, and who, with Mrs. Icyda and two little sons, are in this country eight years. Mr. Icyda's lecture was both entertaining and instructive, and the school children present, as well as the older heads, were edified and amused by this interesting entertainer. So far, the gross returns amount to $40.00 with more to be heard from. The amount for private school improvement is one-fourth of the proceeds. These entertainments are instructive and break the sameness of the school work. (The High School Idea, Vol 1, BSL March 1908)

"Ida Villa" - Letter from Mary Leigh Weston 21 Aug 1987
"Dear Charles: I wonder if you have any information of
Ida Villa that was at the corner of Sycamore and South
Beach Blvd. Dave Glover told me that it was the home of
his mother's family (the Matranga's). It apparently
burned down. He's not sure when they lost the house. He
came across this information going through his mother's
papers when he read an article on the marriage of his
mother and father. Ida Villa was named for his mother's
sister. Hope you are doing well. Sincerely. Mary Leigh
(Weston).
