Neider, Michael, member of the "Philadelphia 14" (N.O. Volunteer Fire Company) who was wounded during a racial altercation aboard the steamer "CREOLE" on July 17, 1870. See entry under Marine File: "CREOLE".

 

"Nellie's Villa"- The following are among the guests of the hospitable and homelike home of Mrs. M. Radetzki, "Nellie's  Villa:" Mr.  and Mrs. R. Vienet, Miss Mildred Cockron,  Misses Lizzie Broughton, Bella Vienet, Katie Faust, Louisia  Faust, Enda Faust, Rosa Manasses, Mr. and Mrs. J. Stane, Miss Ray Stane, Messrs. D.  Portar, N. Dowling. (SCE  8/27/1892)  Isnardin, Miss Alice, gave one of the most elegant and  aristocratic affairs of the season at "Nellie's Villa" on Sunday night.  (SCE 8/19/1893)  Isnardin, Alice, who so charmingly entertained at Nellie's Villa last summer, returned to New Orleans yesterday  morning.  (SCE 09/16/1893)

 

Maughermar, Mr. and Mrs. J.G., of South Bend, Indiana,  arrived at the Bay this week to spend the winter and have  rented Mrs. Gragnon's magnificent "Nellie’s Villa". These  wealthy Northerners are delighted with the Bay and its  climate, and we feel confident that these excellent people  will win many friends here. Mr. Moughermar (sp?) says he  finds Bay St. Louis far superior as a winter resort over  California and other places equally advertised. (SCE 12-2­1893) "Nellie's Villa".  806 S. Nemals, Themma - Mr. and Mrs.  F. C. Collins and daughters, Kathy, Susan and Carolyn, of Mobile, arrived last week to  visit with her aunt Mrs.  Mildred Blaize.  Mr. Collins  returned home Sunday and will join his family this weekend. Neutroth, Mrs. and family are among our many welcome new  residents and are occupying one of the pretty Saucier cottages on Union Street.  The charming Misses Mamie and Jennie Neuthrop are quite an aquisition to the Bay's society. (SCE 9/03/1892)

Neuroth, Mrs. - On Thursday evening the sixth  regular meeting of In For Fun club was held at the  residence of Mr. and Mrs. L Baron: the seventh regular meeting of the club takes place on Thursday, Oct. 13th, at the residence of Mrs. Neuroth, on Union St. (SCE  10/01/1892)  In For Fun Club ­One of the social events of the week was the meeting of the I.F.F. club at the residence of Mrs. Neuroth, Union Street, on Thursday evening.  No pleasanter a time could had been enjoyed.   (SCE 10/15/1892)  On Saturday night a large and appreciative audience  witnessed the comedy, "Married Mashers", at Fireman's Hall.  Mr. Paul Combel; as Mr. Krout, kept the audience in a constant roar of laughter.  His playing is highly praised  by all, and his friends now tell him that his fortune is to  be made upon the stage.  Mr. Jno. C. Leininger's impersonation of Mr.  Gilhooly the Irishman could have  hardly been better.   Miss M.  Nenroth made a charming Mrs. Brown and her singing was well received.  Mr. M. L.  Porche  took the part of Mr.  Brown with ease and credit.  Miss  Jennie Neuroth made a pretty picture as Mrs. Krout.  The  other characters did equally well.  The affair wound up in  an enjoyable dance.  (SCE/10/22/1892)

 

  Mrs Neuroth spent yesterday in New Orleans.  (SCE/10/22/1892)  On Thursday evening a large number of young folks met at the residence of the Misses Neuroth and enjoyed themselves immensely.  It was an evening of pleasure that will long be remembered.  (SCE 10/29/1892)  Mr. Peter Tudury has rented his cottage on Main Street to  Mrs.  Neuroth who will take possession of it on the 1st. Breath, Mrs., residence was the scene of a "tacky party"  given by the young folks on Wednesday evening.

 

  There  have been many enjoyable affairs in social circles at  Bay St. Louis, but we doubt very much whether there has  been any previous affair to equal or excel this one.  The costumes worn by the participants were fully up to the requirements that govern such parties, and laughter  to no little extent was created.  Those present were  Misses Lydia and Edwege Saucier, Misses Vicky Breath, Marie Carr, Allie Taft, Lucy Toulme, the Misses Bozetto, Misses Josephine Buras, Victoria Friesh, A. Laurant, Ollie Caldwell, Mamie Neuroth, Jenny Neuroth, Mr. and Mrs. T. Conway, Mrs. Bozetto, Mrs. Laurant, Mrs. Petite, Mrs.  Neuroth, Mrs. Friesh, Mrs. Tudury, Messrs, Jos. dePaoli,  Luther Ansley, P. Combel, F. and R. Caldwell, M. Blaize,  Alphonse J. Baron, R.   Duty, Miss, of New Orleans, is the guest of Miss Jennie Neuroth, on Union street.  Miss Maud Baringer, who is  the guest of Miss Mamie Neuroth, has just returned from  a pleasant visit to her friends in the country.  (SCE 9/3/1893)

 

  Baringer, Mrs., after spending Sunday the guest of Nenroth,  Mrs.B., returned to New Orleans the same evening with her  daughter Miss Maud, who has been spending several weeks with the Misses Nenroth.  (SCE 09/09/1893)
