On This Day In...

1867

April 29th - The Circuit Court orders the Board of Police to establish Shieldsborough as the seat of justice of the county. The Board of Police had originally declared Gainesville to have "the highest number of votes", but the Court decides that Shieldsborough had received the "majority of legal votes."
