Downer, Rev. R. B. - Koch, The remains of Mr. Peter, son of Captain C. D. Koch, of Logtown, who died Monday morning in Louisiana, were interred in the family graveyard at Bogue Houma, Wednesday morning. A large attendance of friends and acquaintances of the deceased were present. The ceremony was performed by Rev. R. B. Downer. The grief-stricken relatives and friends of the deceased have our sympathies. (SCE 03/18/1893)

Downer, The Rev. Mr., preached his farewell sermon in Pearlington last Sunday, and left Tuesday for the annual conference. It is the wish of his friends that he will be sent to this town again. (SCE 12-9-1893)

Drake, E. S. occupied as his office a small house located at ____ Main St. It had 4 rooms that were connected to a small building (kitchen and pantry). It was originally owned by J. B. Toulme. In 1853 it was sold to Joseph Bonau, whose daughter Christine Bonau Tito inherited it and retained ownership for many years. (Gov Ames entertained here - sad fact, he was a Yankee of the most unacceptable type}). Mr. Drake owned the property for at least 50 years. (BSL 100 years pg. 25. Photo of back building).

Drinkwater, Mr., of the Ocean Springs Leader made a pleasant visit to this office on Saturday evening. This gentleman comes from Kansas and is aiding materially in advancing the growth and development of Ocean Springs. (SCE 02/11/1893)
Drinkwater, Mr. L. F., editor of the OCEAN SPRINGS LEADER and a real estate dealer, was in this city Monday, contracting for the surveying and platting of some seven or eight hundred acres of land adjoining this city. The surveyors are now at work. The land will be platted into five acre lots with convenient streets and alleys. A force of men will be put to work to clear and improve the land, and these lands will be put on the market as soon as ready. Mr. Drinkwater is in communication with both Northern and English capitalists and a material change is likely to be made as he has the disposition and facilities of letting the world know the advantages of the Gulf Coast.
