  When the city is engrossed in any business of a public nature expectant eyes at once turn to Mr. Evans, and he is always found willing to help in any enterprise that the city has under consideration, and these are not a few, for Bay St. Louis is calculated to make one of the great cities of the South, and how soon depends on the determination of the businessmen of the city.  A customer at the store receives courteous treatment, and we are sure that you will be as much pleased with the stock and the business done as we were during our visit, as both attest a lively and prosperous continuance of the same.

 

Mr. Evans is considered one of the best chemists in the State, and the dispensation of medicines is his specialty. (SCE 05/20/1893)

  Campbell, Mrs., of New Orleans, is the guest of Mr. and Mrs. Thos. Evans, on Union street.  Mrs. Campbell is good company, bright and clever, and will add greatly to society on Union street.  (SCE 9/3/1893)

 

  Evans, Mr. T. L. was one of the fortunate guessers in the W. R. Irby cotton crop guessing contest. The official report is 6.700365 bales and Mr. Evans came 6.700 near it, winning $10.00 (SCE 09/09/1893)

 

  Evans, Mr. Thos. L., has a fresh and larger stock of drugs in his store than ever before, and says that he wants more business to hustle with and-we were going to forget to say that a bouncing boy baby arrived at Mr. Evans' home last Sunday.  (SCE 10/21/1893)

 

  Campbell, Mrs. Wm., who was the guest of Mrs. Thos. L. Evans for some time, returned to her home in New Orleans Thursday evening accompanied by Miss Mattie Evans. (10/28/1893)

1907, Nov 23,  Thomas Evans has leased the Edwards building formerly occupied the Coast Furniture and Supply Co. (SCE, 11/23/1908).

 

1907, Dec 7. SCE - Thomas Evans will occupy the building on the beach opposite the site of the Clifton Hotel that John C. Markey has contracted G. G. Gardebled to construct.

 

1908, Feb 15. (SCE).  Thomas L. Evans has moved into his handsome new Star Drug Store opposite the Clifton Hotel. In the rear are the offices of Dr. R. J. Turner and Dr. W.B. Rohmer.

 

  1908, Feb 20.  Evans Drug Store burglured (SCE). (It burned in Sep 1907 - was rebuilt by Feb 1908?)

Fahey Drug Co., 300 Railroad Av. (Ph 48 thru 50-55)

 

Fahey Drug Co. owned by Fahey family and employed "Alvin" as druggist.  "Alvin" was beloved by almost every resident in town and sadly missed when he died.  Later the drug store was bought by druggist, Charles Thomas whom most people thought to be very much like their "old" Alvin. Alvin was buried in front of the City Hall Bldg., to show the admiration and thanks of the townspeople.  (Actually buried in St. Mary's Cemetery, BSL.  Monument only is on City Hall property)

 

Fahey, E. F. Jr. -  Entered partnership of Bandaret & Fahey Bros in 1910 until 1920.

Fahey, Mr. John B. (Waveland Notes) - A nice two-story residence is in course of construction for Mr. John B. Fahey at the corner of Second Street and the rail road track. Mr. Fahey shows a good example to others who have money to invest.  (SCE 9/30/1893)

 

Hyronamous, Mr. Gus, a gentleman largely interested in lumber at Mobile, was at the Bay this week, guest of Mr. John Fahey.  (SCE 12-2-1893)

 

Fahey, John B.  Residence shall be known as "Oak Grove Villa".  (SCE 1896 Vol 5 #1).

 

Fahey, John B. Mrs., Sold lot at Front and Carroll to Mr. Behren who then contracted with Mr. Gardebled to build an 8 room home there. (SCE 4/1/1905 #10 col 1).

 

Planchet, Mr. G., who owns a charming looking cottage on Union Street, and a handsome two-story dwelling on Second Street for Mr. John Fahey, are among the most notable improvements of many that are going on in and about the Bay just now.  The above will be completed in a few days.  Mr. Sanger is busily engaged on the Matranga dwelling on the beach. Fahey, Leo F. Father., Son of Mr. and Mrs. John B. Fahey. Pastor at OLG and later at Hattiesburg.  (SCE Jubilee 1942 page 13).

 

Fahey, - Mr. Nat, and his gang of workingmen have started the big work of repairing the bridge between this city and Henderson's Point, beginning from the latter named end. Carloads of the sewer pipes, used to encase the posts, has arrived with all the other necessary material for the present and the work will be pushed as rapidly as possible. It will consume many months before completed. (SCE 12/10/1892)
