Koch, C. D. - Editor Echo, Dear Sir:  I see in your last issue of the ECHO an editorial on sheep raising on the coast, from the Ocean Springs Leader, in which the editor would like to know why Northern sheepmen don't come here, when sheep can be raised so much easier.  As long as dogs are allowed to kill the sheep, no one will find profit in sheep raising.  Possible at Ocean Springs there are no dogs, but here and all along the Jordan and Wolf rivers there is no place for the poor things.  Five years ago I owned about 1100 sheep and they are now reduced by dogs to about 250.  So, as long as our wise Supervisors prefer to let the dogs that pay no tax, kill the sheep that pay tax, I should not advise anybody to come here and try to raise sheep.  Respectfully, C. D. Koch.  (SCE 04/15/1893)
