Lanaux - On Monday evening of last week, during the heavy rainstorm, lightening struck a tree opposite the Lanaux property. The tree, bark and roots were very much damaged, and strange to say, the tree will live. (SCE 8/6/1892)

Lanaux, Hon. Pierre - At his residence, 389 Esplanade Avenue, New Orleans, on Monday night, at 8:30 p.m., to Hon. Pierre Lanaux came the inevitable end to life. Mr. Lanaux, with his family, was a regular summer resident in Bay St. Louis, owning a magnificent villa on the beach. He was held in high esteem by all who knew him and the news of his death was a shock. Mr. Lanaux was one of the wealthy and leading representatives of the Louisiana Creoles. He was born in New Orleans, January 1845. Some years ago he was called to presidency of the State National Bank and the New Orleans Insurance Association, and held those positions till his death. Under his able administration both institutions have prospered. Mr. Lanaux's life was an eventful and one of honors. (SCE 9/10/1892)

Hazen, Mr. - On Union Street property is not decreasing in value. Last week Mr. Hazen, recently from New York, who bought a property from Mr. Landrieu and improved it, sold to Mr. Anderson for two thousand five hundred dollars. Mr. Anderson intends to move the present house nearer the front lot and in its stead build a handsome two story building. Bay St. Louis has a big future if a few more will put the shoulder to the wheel as Mr. Anderson is doing. (SCE 09/09/1893)

LANG, GERALDINE
Geradine Loutina Barr Lang from Bay St. Louis, receivd the Volunteer o the Year Award from the Mississippi Economic Development Countil July 18, 1996, during ceremonies in Biloxi.
Each year, the Council recognizes the significant contributions made by unpaid workers who have been instruental in the location of new and expanded industries in their respective cmmunities.
The MEDC Volunteer of the Year Award is Mississippi’s highest and most coveted honor bestowed upon nonprofessional economic developers.
In 1995, nine Mississippians earned ths recognition.
Lang was nominated by the Southern Mississippi Planning and Development District. Impacting economic development in the Bay St. Louis area, Lang has been actively involved as:
Member of the Board of Directors of Southern Mississippi Planning and Development District.
Founder-Charter Membership Hancock County Chapter Concerned Citizens which rebuilt two houses for needy families.
