  For him, he is totally happy doing what he does. Working in the ER in Wiggins allows him to meet wonderful people and stay up on medicine and he loves where he lives. The scenic view from his front porch is better than most vacation spots. Why should he quit for someone to take his place with less experience?

 

  According to Dr. Mac, society may have it backwards. Perhaps we should retire at 30 and go back to work at 65. For Dr. Mac and for many seniors, age 65 is only a reference point, not an age for retirement.

McGauffle, Eva Miss - Mauffray, Hon. Julian A., representative of this county in the State Legislature, was one of the few legislators who did not leave immediately after adjournment Saturday night.  Monday evening his action was explained when he led to the altar at St. Peper's Catholic church, Miss Eva McGauffle, and the two were made man and wife by Rev. Father Dutto.  The groom is one of the most esteemed and valued son and citizen of Hancock county and his worth and intelligence was recognized when the voters sent him to the State capitol to guide and promote their public interests.  We are not fortunate to be acquainted with the bride, but we understand that she is well liked and highly esteemed for her many virtues and stands high wherever known.  The happy couple left Jackson the same evening for their future home at Kiln.  To Mr. and Mrs. Mauffray THE ECHO expresses a carload of good wishes for a long and happy life. Sydney Saucier, Frank Huges, R. McIntosh, Jr., Chas. Taconi, and Leon Capdepon as Kings, with Misses Belle Tonry, N. Courtenay, M. McIntosh, R. - St. Armand, estate, was sold by County Clerk Hewes before the Town Hall door at auction last Monday. There were several bidders, but it was finally secured by Mr. R. McIntosh for $1785.00 (SCE 12/16/1893)
