SELLERS
Sellers was the site of a large vocational high school located on the line between Hancock and Harrison Counties. The school was approximately thirty miles from Gulfport and at one time there were two stores and a few houses. The community had no definite boundaries but centered around the school district which probably comprised 300 people. (Hometown Mississippi by James F. Brieger)

Especially for Jules Sellier. Born in France and came to Hancock circa 1820, perhaps earlier. He had one son named Alfred. Was related to Alphonse below who married Josephine Laborde. Also Victoria below was a daughter of Jules. Perhaps his middle Name was possibly Louis.

Senate Restaurant- Saucier, Mr. Ed., has rented his beach property, on Front near Main streets, to Mrs. Whitney who is perfecting all necessary arrangements for the early opening of a first-class restaurant. This will fill a long felt want in our midst, and it gives The Echo pleasure to spread the good news. The restaurant will be known as "The Senate" by Whitney & Taft. (SCE 04/08/1893)

The gracious, charming and hospitable lady managers are determined to make their restaurant a success and we are glad to see them succeeding in this direction.
