Taconi, James-    Miss Camille, and Mr. Bribgaenti Lladbrando, of Bay St. Louis were married on January 10, 1893, at the Catholic church.  The bridesmaid was Miss Ellinora Vasalie, and the groomsman was Mr. James Taconi. After the ceremony the friends of the young couple were entertained by dancing and an abundant supply of cakes and wine at the disposal of all present.  Best wishes for the happiness of the newly-wedded pair. Tafft, elegant Senate restaurant is quite an acquisition to our city and our people may well feel proud of it.  The gracious, charming and hospitable lady managers are determined to make their restaurant a success and we are glad to see them succeeding in this direction.  The openings are all fly-proof screened, and the man who takes a meal at the Senate, you can bet, there'll be no flies on him.  (SCE 6/3/1893)

Talley, Janet - LAGARDE WINS AT DIAMONDHEAD- Lis Lagarde, 15 daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Lagarde placed first in the Diamondhead Junior Tournament.  Earlier in the month Miss Lagarde assured herself a place in the Southern Closed Junior Tournament to be played in Mobile with a semi-final finish in the Mississippi Junior Qualifying Tournament in Jackson.  The top four finishers from the Mississippi tournament qualified for the Southern Closed.  Miss Lagarde was the only player from the coast to reach the top four.

 

Miss Lagarde teamed with Meg Elliott of Brookhaven to win the 16-year-old's double title.  The pair defeated thenumber one seeded doubles team for the title.

 

  In single's play during the Juniors, Miss Lagarde defeated three opponents, before being defeated by Debbie Dotson in the semi-finals.

 

  Lis will participate in several more competitions this summer before returning to studies at Our Lady's Academy.

 

Lis has been coached by Brother Pascal of St. Stanislaus and Brother Paul, tennis coach of SSC and OLA.  She is presently being coached by Janet Talley, Diamondhead Racquet Club. (Coast Buyers Guide - June 23, 1976)
