Caldwell, Mrs.  Suffered heavy loss to property in hurricane of 1 Oct 1893.  (I think from reading this that she was not situated on the beach.) (Daily Picayune 6 Oct. 1893). Caldwell, Mrs., had a number of young folks to meet on New Year's eve night at her residence and made to be at home and enjoy themselves.  Good music and a table covered with good things to satisfy the thirsty and hungry was at the disposal of all present and to say the least of the affair, it was a highly enjoyable one.  Among those fortunate to be present were the daughter and sons of the house, Misses Mamie Baron, Miss Alice Combel, Miss Alice Baron, Misses Angeline and Amelia Combel, Miss Amelia Laurant, Miss Sadler, Mrs. Petit, Mrs. Laurant, Messrs. Jas. B. Ulman, Warren Peiri, M. De Smith, Luther Ansley, Alponse J. Baron, Jos. J. Gutierrez, Jr., Edwards and the writer. (SCE 1-61894)
