Champlin, Charles C. Jr.  -  January 12, 1894

Died in Pearlington, January 12, 1894, Charles C. Champlin, Jr., son of Dr. Charles C. Champlin and Nettie Cruthirds.

''Leaves have their time to fall,

And flowers to wither, at the north winds breath,

And stars to set--but all--

Thou hast all seasons for thine own, O Death."

This loved and gentle son has gone from his home, where his presence was like a ray of sunshine. His was a life beautiful and blessed, a picture of young manhood in its most beatifuI aspect, bright and gay happy and contented. He was regular and conscientious in the performance of his duties, he was a dutiful affectionate son and a loving brother, and now his unexpected death has left a desolation in the family and to all who knew him. There is a vacant chair in the household band, an echo of a voice that is stilled, an empty chair at the table which never can be filled. He leaves a father, mother, and two brothers and many loving friends to mourn his loss and cherish his memory as something sacred. We will try to think of him as not dead, but as an angel pure and beautiful in the garden of Him who does all things for the best. --Handsboro Mentor.
