Bankston, Leonard A. - October 20, 1986
Mass of Christian Burial for Bay St. Louis native Leonard A. "Brownie" Bankston, 87, was celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Lamana-Panno-Fallo Funeral Home, Metairie, La.
Interment was in Hope Mausoleum.
Mr. Bankston, a former resident of New Orleans and resident of St. Bernard, La. For the past 23 years, died at 8:45 a.m. Monday, Oct. 20, 1986 at East Jefferson General Hospital.
He was the son of the late Andrew and Lillian Saucier Bankston.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Vivian Bourgeois Bankston and by his first wife, Hilda Silva Eckert; by a daughter, Vivian Jeffery; by brothers Fred Bankston and Henry Bankston; and by sisters Hanna Bankston, Jeannette Lamourane and Lucille Carter.
Survivors include four daughters, Audrey Smith, Lorraine Warner, Shirley Capagnano and Alice St. Angelo; four sons, Leonard J. Bankston, Earl A. Bankston, Ronald J. Bankston and William C. Bankston; sisters, May Dickinson, Margaret McGittigan; 18 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
