Carney, Chauncey F.  -  June 20, 2000

Chauncey F. Carney, 71, died Tuesday, June 20, 2000, in Gulfport.

Mr. Carney was a native of Algona, Iowa, and had been a resident of Diamondhead for the past three years. He was a veteran of the Korean War and was a retired insurance agent in St. Louis. He was a duplicate bridge ACBL lifemaster and a member of Unit 180 in Gulfport.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Carney.

Survivors include his wife, Jane Moore of Diamondhead; three sons, Timothy Carney of Tulsa, OK, Michael Carney of O'Fallon, MO, and Patrick Carney of Little Rock, AR; two daughters, Lynne Hailey of Pawnee, III, and Susan Sickler of O'Fallon; two sisters, Roberta Officer of Mt. Airy, MD, and Jane Reynolds of Toronto, Canada; a brother, Edward Carney of Iowa City, IA; and six grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Riemann Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, U.S. 49 North, Gulfport, where friends may call from 1 p.m. until service time.
