Williams, John "Mose"  -  August 24, 2000

John "Mose" Williams died Thursday at his home in Bay St. Louis from a heart attack. He was 70.

A native of Bay St. Louis, MS, Williams was a retired chief of the supply division of the Veterans Administration in Biloxi, MS. He was a graduate of Randolph High School in Pass Christian and served two years in the U.S. Army in the early 1950's.

Funeral services will begin Wednesday at 10 a.m. with a viewing of his body at St. Rose de Lima Church in Bay St. Louis, MS. A mass will follow at 11 a.m.

Williams was preceded in death by his parents, New Iberia, LA, native Mary E. Dautrive and Daniel J. Williams of Bay St. Louis.

Survivors include his wife, Doris Pichon Williams of Bay St. Louis; three sisters, Mary Smith of Bay St. Louis, Amelia Broussard of New Orleans and Lorraine Dean of Beltsville, MD; one brother, Roland Broussard of New York; six sons, Ronald Lanaux of Jamaica, Pedro Williams of Gulfport, Pierre Williams of San Francisco, CA, Leslie Williams of New Orleans, LA, Tyrone Williams of DeLisle and Sgt. John Williams Jr. of Clarksville, TN; four daughters, Pentronella Williams of Los Angeles, CA, Petrina Curtis of Darmstadt, Germany, Sabrina Price of Ft. Rucker, AL, and Merinda Joy Davis of Castlerock, CO; 17 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
