Pickens, Richard Rowland - September 24, 2000
Richard Rowland Pickens, 70, died Sunday, Sept. 24, 2000, in Bay St. Louis.
Mr. Pickens was a native of New Albany and had been a resident of Diamondhead for the past four years. He was retired as a pilot with Delta Airlines and was a veteran of the Korean War. He was a Baptist and was a member of Sigma MHI Fraternity.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil Aubrey and Mary Beulah Rowland Pickens.
Survivors include his wife, Bobbie Pickens of Diamondhead; three sons, Richard R. Pickens II of New Orleans, Bart Pickens of Perkinston and Cecil R. Pickens of Boston; a sister, Cecile Pickens of Costa Mesa, Calif, and a grandchild.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Edmond Fahey Funeral Home Chapel in Bay St. Louis where friends may call one hour before service time. Interment will be in Gulf Coast Memorial Cemetery and Mausoleum in Bay St. Louis.
