Dahn, John Charles Sr.  -  October 16, 2000

Mr. John Charles Dahn, Sr., 81, and a resident of Bay St. Louis, died Monday, October 16, 2000 in Bay St. Louis.

Mr. Dahn was born in Columbus, IN. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church in Bay St. Louis. He was a charter member and life member of the American Legion Post 77 in Waveland, MS. He was also a member of the VFW Post No. 3253 in Bay St. Louis.

He attended the University of Indianapolis and graduated from Xavier University in Cincinnati. OH. During his career as an accountant in the aerospace industry he co-authored the maintenance manual for the Titan II missile.

He was preceded in death by a son, Peter Joseph Dahn; a grandson, Michael John Dahn; his parents, J. Carl and Doris Grace Barnaby Dahn; and two brothers, William Joseph Dahn and Thomas Lee Dahn.

He is survived by his wife, Lucille Petro Dahn of Bay St. Louis; four sons, John Charles Dahn, Jr. of Waveland, Jerome Timothy Dahn of Pass Christian, Michael Richard Dahn of St. Cloud, FL, and Nicholas Edward Dahn of Bay St. Louis; three daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Dahn Ferrell of Waveland, Mrs. Mary Dahn Mocklin of Portland, OR, and Mrs. Judith Dahn Williams of Merritt Island, FL; two sisters, Mrs. Ann Heufle of Norfolk, NB, and Mrs. Martha Jane DeClue of Newbern, IN; 17 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call on Wednesday from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the Riemann Funeral Home in Bay St. Louis. Recitation of the rosary will be at 8:30 p.m. A procession will leave the funeral home on Thursday at 9:45 a.m. going to Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church for Mass at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in the Gulf Coast Memorial Cemetery in Bay St. Louis.

The family prefers memorial contributions to Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church or to the American Cancer Society.
