Langenbacker, Frank James Jr.  -  November 24, 2005

M/Sgt Frank James Langenbacker, Jr., USAF, Ret., 73, of Waveland died Thursday, November 24, 2005 in Mandeville, LA.

He was a native and lifelong resident of the Bay St. Louis/Waveland area, retired Air Force and Air Guard after 37 years, charter member of Air Force Memorial Foundation, Arlington, VA, retired Civil Service life member of the Enlisted Association of the National Guard, retired Life Member of the MS National Guard Association, served as First Vice Commander of American Legion Post #77, Waveland, member of American Legion Post 139, Bay St. Louis, member, usher, and greeter at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church. While in the military, he received the following awards: Air Force Meritorious Service Medal, Air Force Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal, the Humanitarian Service Medal, Air Force Overseas Ribbon, Air Force Longevity Ribbon, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, Air Force Reserve Forces Meritorious Service Medal, Air Force Training Ribbon, United Nations Service Medal, and the MS Efficiency Medal, MS Longevity Medal, MS War Medal, MS Emergency Medal, and the MS Magnolia Medal.

He was preceded in death by a son, David Allen Langenbaker; parents: Frank James Langenbacker, Sr. and Pearl Garcia Langenbacker; brother, James Langenbacker; and an aunt, Mabel Sellers.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Carolyn Ramond Langenbacker, Waveland; his children: Frank J. Langenbacker, III, Mandeville, LA, Debra (Kevin) Wilson, Bay St. Louis, Joe (Cindy) Langenbacker, Gulfport, and Mary (Charles Cook) Langenbacker, Ocean Springs; step-brother, Clifton Caroll, Waveland; 9 grandchildren and 1 great-gr

and children and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Visitation will be Sunday, November 27, 2005 from 6-8 pm at Gulf Coast Funeral Home, Kiln-DeLisle Rd. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 2 pm Monday, November 28, 2005 at St. Rose de Lima Catholic Church.

Interment will be in St. Mary Cemetery with full military honors.

Memorials may be sent to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 1 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN.

Gulf Coast Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements.
