Drummond, Mamie "Deal"  -  January 8, 2006

Mrs. Mamie Drummond "Deal," 80, of Bay St. Louis, MS passed away on Sunday, January 8, 2006, in Jackson, MS. Mrs. Drummond was a native of Logtown, MS.

Throughout her career, she was a school teacher in the Hancock and Harrison County School Districts. Mrs. Drummond also worked for the Head Start Program for 23 years.

She was a member of the Velena C. Jones United Methodist Church. At the Valena C. Jones United Methodist Church, she was a member of the Trustee Board, Homecoming Committee, and Cluster Committee. She was also a chairperson for the Financial Committee and the Family and Friends Committee, as well as a Communion Steward. Mrs. Drummond will be remembered as a devoted United Methodist woman. She was also involved in her community as a leader for the Democratic Party.

Mrs. Drummond is survived by one son, Charles S. Dorsey, Jr., of Bay St. Louis; one daughter, Linette Bill Patel of Bay St. Louis; and also by three grandchildren.

Visitation for Mrs. Drummond was held on Friday, January 13, 2006, from 8 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. in the Valena C. Jones United Methodist Church. Her funeral service was held on January 13, 2006, at 9:00 a.m. at the Valena C. Jones United Methodist Church in Bay St. Louis. The service was officiated by Reverend Bobby McGill, who was assisted by Elder Bobby Dailey

Mrs. Drummond's burial will be in the Biloxi National Cemetery in Biloxi, MS under the direction of Baylous Funeral Home.
