Lizana, Alta R. - July 21, 1999
Alta R. Lizana, 81, of Bay St. Louis, Ms., died Wednesday, July 21, 1999 in Slidell, La.
Mrs. Lizana was a native of Lafayete La., and has been a resident of Bay St. Louis for the past 48 years. She was a member of St. Rose de Lima Catholic Church where she served as eucharistic minister and was a member of the Bay St. Louis Senior Citizens.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl L. Lizana Sr., a son, Earl L. Lizana Jr.; a daughter, Marie Eleanor Lizana; parents Alphie and Ana Hebert Romero; a brother, Wilred Romero; a sister, Inex Cuevas, and a grandson, Albert Claiborne Carver.
Survivors include two sons, Joseph Morris Lizana Sr. and John W. Lizana, both of Bay St. Louis; three daughers, Shirley Shubert and Elaine Oliver, both of Bay St. Louis, and Lynda Hudnall of Woodland, Calif; three brothers, Alfred Romero of Sule Creek, Tenn., Leonard Romero of Jacksonville, Fla., and Steve Romero of Interlachen Fla.; two sisters, Mary Lillian Bowes of Long Beach and Anna Joyce of Pineville; 29 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren and six great-great-granchildren.
Vsitation will be after 7 p.m. today at Riemann Funeral in Bay St. Louis with recitation of the rosary at 8 p.m.
A procession will leave the funeral home at 9:45 a.m. Monday going to the St. Roe de Lima Catholic Church in Bay St. Louis for celebration of Mass at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in the DeLisle Cemetery.
