Noto, Peter J.  -  October 31, 1997

Peter Joseph Noto, 88, of Waveland, died Friday, Oct 31, 1997, in Waveland.

Mr. Noto was retired from Louisville Nashville Railroad. He served as a deputy for the Hancock County Sherrif's Department under the late Sheriffs Claude Monti, John Egloff, Gerald Price Sr., Sylvan Ladner and also under Sheriff Ronnie Peterson. He was also a deputy for the Town of Waveland under the late Marshal Fred Bourgeois.Mr. Noto was constable for Hancock County District One for 16 years. He was also Bailiff for Hancock County for the past 20 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Noto and Mary Vita Culiano Noto; his wife, Zona Yarborough Noto; a son, Henry Joseph Noto; five brothers, Toni Noto, Sam Noto, Frank Noto, Salvador Noto, and Tom Noto; and a sister, Frances Noto Miller.

Survivors include his children, Peter Noto of Kenner, Shirley Noto Corr and Gloria Noto Cook, both of Waveland; Ruth Noto Herron of Picayune, and Arthemese Noto Pope of Gautier; three brothers, Joseph Noto of Bay St. Louis, Morris Noto of New Orleans, and Glen Noto of Carenco, La; a sister, Elsie Noto Tanguis of Lumberton; 21 grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation was Monday evening at Edmond Fahey Funeral Home in Bay St. Louis. A Funeral Mass was celebrated Tuesday at St. Clare Catholic Church in Waveland. Burial was in Waveland Cemetery.
