Bay Saint Louis received its designation as a Mississippi Main Street City June, 1992.
The economic revitalization program designed by the National Trust for Historic Preservation is administered locally by the Bay St. Louis Development Foundation.
The mission of the Bay Saint Louis Development Foundation is to enhance Bay Saint Louis as the heart of historic, social, economic and cultural activities through promotion, design, economic restructuring and organization.
Foundation project areas include the historic downtown, the emerging depot district and the major entrance to Bay St. Louis, Highway 90.
The Foundation is a public/private, nonprofit, partnership with the City of Bay Saint Louis, governed by an eleven member Board of Directors.
