In 1947 ttte post purchased property on the Beach in Bay St. Louis with the intent of building its home. In 1950 the post home was built on the beach overlooking the Bay of St.Louis. To enhance the property and to provide recreational facilities a pier and harbor was built. In 1955 ani extension to the existing building was planned, and in 1958 the new building was finished. 196^ the American Legion home was completely destroyed by hurrican Camille. The Post having lost their meeting facilities met in the old scout house and made plans to build a new home. With an assist of$25,0Q0vfrom the National American Legion, and Legionnaires throughout the countyy, the post purchased a home on Blue Meadow Road. in 1971 the post constructed it new meeting home.The new meeting home is presently located on a four acre piece of ground with adjo-t^wiing ? club house, swimming pool, scout meeting home, and bus garage. The construction of these facilities were made possible through the grant from the National .American Legion, a $50,000, 37o loan from the S.B.a., and available post funds.
