SYNOPSIS OF PLAY.
Blake, apparently a striving and respectful diamond broker in New York, sought the hand of Mr. Firman’s daughter in marriage, but was rejected. She had already given it to Mr. George Morris, who Wiis Blake’s chief clerk. In his anger and disappointment he attempted to ruin Morris’ character by chargin'' him with the theft of his diamond. By the merest accident George discovered that he was dealing in stolon goods. Blake was arrested, jumped his bail and followed Morris in Cuba, where Mr. Firman had given him charge of his plantation. Here the villain tried to wreak his vengeance by charging George of treason towards the Government.
