EMERGENCY
Dialing 911 will enable you to reach all emergency services: ambulance, fire department, police department and other services.
FISHING LICENSES
A fishing license is required for fresh water fishing (Jourdan and Pearl Rivers and in-land bayous). People over 65 and under 16 do not need a license. No fishing license is required for fishing in salt water areas. Fishing and hunting and boat registrations are available through sporting goods stores.
GOVERNMENT
Several forms of government exist including: Mayor/City Council for BaySt Louis, Mayor/Aldermen for Waveland and Board of Supervisors for Hancock County.
HEALTH & MEDICAL
Hancock Medical Center is a newly constructed facility offering complete emergency service and health care. (See the first page of the yellow pages for detailed information.) The Medical Center offers a Community Education Program free to the public.
INSPECTION STICKERS
Mississippi law requires that every vehicle be inspected annually by a Mississippi inspection station. Drivers with expired stickers can be ticketed and fined.
Stickers are available from Goodyear Tire, and Frank Hille Quick Lube. Cost of the sticker is $5.00 per year.
NEWS MEDIA
Newspapers - The Sea Coast Echo serves Hancock County and is published Thursday and Sunday of each week. The Sun Herald serves the entire Gulf Coast and is published daily.

VOTING REGISTRATION
Residents must be 18 years old on or before the election date and must register 30 days before an election date. Register at the Circuit Clerk's office in the courthouse, or at the Bay St Louis or Waveland city halls.
