The church voted to make a gift of $5,136.16 to Bayside Mission for a building. May 5 was designated as "Dr. Ramsey's Day". Along with the other Senior Adults we honored Dr. Ramsey as one of the oldest members of our church. He joined our church in 1927 when the church was located in the Cemetery on Easterbrook Street. During May we received an invitation to the fiftieth wedding anniversary of Brother John Dearing, a former pastor, in Great Bridge First Baptist Church in Chesapeake, Virginia. The Puppet Ministry Group was organized and about three months later the Youth Mission Team used the puppets in Daytona Beach, Florida. The church granted Brother Nathan Barber, our pastor, a three months leave of absence. Dr. Luther Dorr was to be the Acting Pastor in his absence. This year the Church Directories were made. During the regular church service in November Brother Nathan Barber read his letter of resignation to those attending. He had faithfully served the church for eighteen years. Until March 8, 1992, he would continue his valuable service. The Sanctuary Choir presented "An Old Fashioned Christmas" Cantata on December 15. The budget was voted on and accepted as $222,500. Our church was the scene of the annual Community Thanksgiving Service.

Fillingame, Chairman, Bobbye Gibson, Carl Gipson, Jr., Elisabeth Magee, Sam Wilbourn, Lucile Winklepleck, Dave Harvill, alternate. January 19th was declared "Sanctity of Human Life Sunday", a lesson on Abortion. In February a letter to the church family appeared in the Christian Witness bulletin that Brother Barber had accepted a call to Immanuel Baptist Church in Hattiesburg. Our Annie
