Oxford, best known today as the home of Ole Miss and authors William and John Faulkner, is one of Mississippi’s most attractive towns. The scene of important Civil War battles, many of its historic homes and buildings still stand today.
Special Attractions
Rowan Oak, antebellum home of William Faulkner, now owned by the University of Mississippi, will be open on Friday and Sunday from 10 o’clock until noon and from 2 until 4 o’clock. On Saturday the hours are 10 o’clock to noon. There is no admission charge.
Events occurring during Pilgrimage include an antique car show and swap meet, art show, barter fair, sidewalk cafe and a showing of the Cofield Collection of the Faulkner family photographs.
Tour Information
Eight Pilgrimage homes will be open for tour. Hours are 10 until 1 o’clock and 1 until 5 o’clock

each day. Prices are $7.00 for adults, $4.50 for students. Tickets may be purchased in advance by mail from the Chamber of Commerce (T), P.O. Box 147, Oxford, MS 38655. During Pilgrimage tickets will be available
at the tourist information center on the Square. Special student group tours will be available on Thursday, April 20, by advance arrangement.
