What a joy! ...
To have the Miss. State Highway Department work with us so well on our Bicentennial Beautification of Highway 90!
First, they gave us a permit for this program...Next, they helped by pruning, digging and transplanting about 150 of the oleanders.
They have been just great about Tnowing the grass at the proper time and have allowed the red clover to bloom and re-seed.
Also, they have kept the whole area neat by using the edger regularly.
First impression of Bay St. Louis after coming off the Bay bridge--*
Oleanders along median wellspaced and looking good!
A bed of red clover around the Old Shieldsboro historical marker
--------—
and at one of the turning bays^.
There was a time when we had to call and remind the State Highway Department to cut the weeds - Not much cooperation!
But, now - - they have 'taken on new responsibilities voluntarily and seem to have as much pride in our $ miles of highway as we do!
