CONSTITUTION OF THE BAY-WAVELAND GARDEN CLUB

The name of the club shall be
BAY—WAVE1 AND GARDEN CLUB
Article II -- Object
The object of the club shall be the advancement of gardening; the development of home gardens; the furthering of city beautification and protection of native trees, shrubs, plants and birds.
Article III -- Membership
1.	The qualification for membership shall be residence of one year or more and active interest in gardening and or active interest in civic endeavor.
2.	Each member must attend three meetings a year; members must perform such duties as are assigned to them by the Executive Committee and must exhibit at one of the club flower shows during the year.
3.	Total active membership of this club shall be limited to 100 members.
4.	Any member may propose one candidate a year for membership by submitting her name, with a co-sponsor, in writing to the chairman of the membership committee. The candidate’s qualifications will be considered by the membership committee and be presented to the Executive Board for approval. A member may co-sponsor two candidates a year.
Article IV----Duties of the Executive Committee
1.	The executive committee shall be composed of six elective officers, retiring President and Chairman of standing committees. They shall submit recommendations to the assembly on all business of the Club except that designated to various other committees.
2.	The executive committee shall meet once a month and at the call of the president.

Article V-----Officers
The officers of the club shall be; President, First Vice-President, Second Vice-President, Recording Secretary, Corresponding Secretary and Treasurer, Parliamentarian and Historian appointed by the President as amended 1966.
Article VI----Elections
1st. The officers and executive board shall be elected annually.
2nd. The nominating committee shall be composed of past presidents. The president shall name a chairman at the March meeting. The committee shall prepare a ticket and present it at the April meeting at which time the Club shall vote on it.
Article VII---Meetings
The regular meeting of the club shall be held the second Thursday afternoon of each month, except June, July and August, at 2 p.m.
BY-LAWS
Article E____Duties of Officers
The duties of the officers shall be those usually pertaining to the office of President, First Vice-President, Second Vice-President, Corresponding Secretary, Treasurer, and Parliamentarian.
Article II — Dues
Dues to be $7.50 payable annually in May. Members not paying these dues within sixty days after due notice will be dropped from the rolls.
Article III — Special Meetings
Special meetings of the Club may be called at the discretion of the President, or upon request of three members.
Article IV — Conventions
In the event the President is unable to attend Conventions, the Vice-President will go in her place or a member of the Board selected by the Board.
