Tree Planting Set By B-W Garden Club
Mrs. Randolph W. Nicaise, Arbor Day Chairman of the Bay-Waveland Garden Club, and Mrs. George L.Seuzeneau, Jr., the Club’s president, extend a cordial welcome to all • Club members and their guests to an Arbor Day tree planting ceremony to be held at the Bay St. Louis Garden and Civic Center February 17 at 2:00 p.m. The program will be followed by a tea.
On Wednesday the planting of four Chinese elm and three silver maple trees will begin the planned re-beautification of the grounds of the Center. Once known as the Taylor School, the preservation of this old landmark of the are a has
been under the supervision of the Garden Club members as a continuing project for many years. Now, after complete restoration of the building, they will continue with the re-beautification of the grounds.
This City of Bay St. Louis beautification project is under the guidance of Felix Seeger, superintendent of public grounds, in co-operation with the HANDS program Chairmen of the Bay-Waveland Garden Club. This work is being done in an effort to replace trees and shrubbery which were destroyed by Hurricane Camille, many of which had been planted as memorials by Garden Club members.
The seven trees to be planted on Arbor Day will be paid for from the Restoration Fund, a gift to the Bay-Waveland Garden Club from the Garden Clubs of Mississippi, Inc. for the purpose of re-beautifying the area.

Organizations Plan Arbor Day Ceremonies
In an effort to replace trees lost by Hurricane Camille, the
Bay-Waveland Garden Club has scheduled Arbor Day ceremonies for February 17 at which time trees will be planted in
various locations throughout the community.
Anyone wishing to help plan the ceremonies or participate in the tree planting is urged to call Mrs. Dan Russell Jr. (467-4239) or Mrs. A.E. Voigt (467-5614).
The ceremonies already scheduled by the Garden Club with Uhe aid of the Bay High Tiger Lily Gardeners, Our Lady
of the Gulf Lazy Daisy Jr. Gardeners, Bay Junior High Merry-Golds and Environmental Science organizations are as follows:
9:30 a.m. Bay Junior High School. 10:00 a.m. City-County Public Library. 11:00 a.m. Our Lady of the Gulf School. 11:30 a.m. Bay Senior High School. 2:00 p.m. Bay St. Louis Garden and Civic Center.
In addition to these ceremonies, trees will be planted at all the parks and playgrounds in Bay St. Louis.
This program is under the supervision of Felix Seeger, City Superintendent of Public Grounds in Bay St. Louis and the HANDS committee of the Bay-Waveland Garden Club.
