The wildlife and landscapes of Henry Stiller’s world are painted on canvas and reflect those things that are most important to him in his adopted Mississippi home, flenrv grew up in New Orleans but his work as an artist is dedicated to capturing the natural beauty of his Mississippi Gulf Goast home.
‘1 wanted my work on the bridge to be reminiscent of Mississippi. The subjects in my paintings for the bridge are the birds and reptiles 1 always expect to see along the Gulf Goast.”
Henry has been recognized for his artistic talent since age 13 when he won a contest sponsored by The Times Picayune. Henry majored in art at various universities throughout a 23-year career in the Air Force where he served as Graphics Specialist, Art Director of the Air Force Reserve Magazine, and as Medical Illustrator. After retiring from the Air Force, Henry worked as Special Projects Artist at Keesler Air Force Base and later spent l l years as the first civilian medical illustrator to the Keesler Medical Center.
■This is an honor for all of the artists represented. Our art will be on the bridge for generations to see. Every artist dreams of leaving a legacy behind.”
