Nature is the recurring theme in the work of Patricia Rigney of Bay St. Louis. Patricia has been involved in the creation of art since she was a child growing up on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Whether in abstract landscapes or representational figurative work, Patricia’s art reflects the beauty of the landscape of her childhood.
Patricia received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from William Carey University in Gulfport. She works primarily in oils on canvas and has drawings and paintings in private collections all over the United States.
While Waiting for the White Pelicans & Other Tales of the Gulf Coast is one of her most recent illustration projects, her drawings are featured in several published books. Her work has shown in numerous galleries along the coast.
Patricia selected the coastal pelicans as her subject for her work for the Bay of St. Louis Bridge. “1 watch the pelicans glide over the water and see life returning to the area. It is an honor that my work is part of the renewal of the Gulf Coast.”
