Dear Carter and Yancy,
I have waited until I had finished the 159 thank-you notes to those who helped staff Le Marin before try ing to get a note off to you. I'm certain you know better than I am able to express in a letter, just how much we appreciate the work, sacrifice and expense you went to in order to let us have our fund-raiser in your new home.
We were delighted with the financial outcome of the show . Seven thousand, five hundred dollars for our building fund exceeded our grandest expectations. As you know, this money was needed before we could begin negotiating with our contractor for the Lobrano House expansion. Our plans are well on the way and we are thereby clearly aware of what you went through w ith contractors, suppliers and workers.
I have never personally worked on a project that was as unspoiled by disagreements as this one was. The two of you were there and were always in good spirits when we needed you. You were exceedingly generous, both to staff and guest, and you were the models for all who entered, setting both the mood and behavior expectations. I know you went to considerable extra expense that might have otherwise been delayed to some later date had it not been for the show. We appreciate all your efforts and we will always be grateful. We hope that you will live long and happy in the beautiful place that you have built and we thank you for helping us start to build our own.
With deep appreciation,
Charles H. Gray President
