LIBRARY
This room was formerly a porch type structure enclosed with windows.
The walls with teal accent have been painted with sueding technique. (First coat, latex paint followed by glazes then more latex. Sheets of Saran wrap are applied then scrunched up and then removed. Fan brushes and sponges are used).
Large Mission chair belonged to Carter's grandfather is a signed Stickley piece.
The tilt top drafting table has been leveled by Donna and Mark, the woodworkers here at the house.
The portrait is of Carter Church's Great Grand Aunt Ada who must have foretold of Carter's work with Mardi Gras as she is holding Mardi Gras colors.
The mantle piece is a faux wood done by Pat George, a local artist. The display within is by Vicki Lever, who has the shop "Paper Moon" on Main Street. She also has the shadow boxes in the hall next to the Guest Room.
The paintings are by Zita Waller, a local artist, Behind the desk are pictures of homes in the neighborhood and one on Jefferson Island, La.
The light fixture was formerly in the dining room.
The home owners are Carter Church and Yancy Pogue who have remodeled the house and invited the individual decorators in.
The donations at the door will all go the Hancock County Historical Society as will 15% of all sales of decorator items.
