Hisorical Society,
In May of 2008 I contacted you to see if Elmwood at 302N. Beach, Bay St. Louis, Miss, had
survived the hurricane and was told that it did not survive. I mentioned that I had some
pictures from the time my grandparents lived there from about 1903 - 1913. In 2008 I had no working scanner and promised to send copies when I acquired a new scanner. I have not yet learned how to put them into a folder so will send them in separate emails.
My grandparents were Elba Huffman Bouslog and John Bouslog. I believe that he worked for the Gulf and Ship Island Railroad. They moved from Springfield, Missouri to Bay St.
Louis in 1903 with their 3 daughters. My mother, Elba Bouslog, and father, Emory Denton, were maried at Elmwood January 6, 1904. Her older sister, Faith, also married a Springfieldian, Harry Upham, at Elmwood. I do not know if the younger sister, Helen, who married Donald Marshall was married there or not, but the lived in Bay St. Louis for a number of years.
