The First Church Building
By this time, also, sufficient funds had been saved to permit further renovations. Exterior changes by way of siding, a brick-veneered front and the addition of a steeple helped to convert what was once an art studio into a quaint, little church building.	The interior was also
refurbished, e.g. . by the painting of rooms, sanding of floors, and the adding of air conditioning and stained glass windows.
The pews used were originally the property of the Carrollton Avenue Presbyterian Church in New Orleans, which had given them to the Ocean Springs Church when it was being built and the New Orleans church was being remodeled. Recently, the Ocean Springs church had expanded, and the hand-hewed wooden pews, rubbed by usage through the years to a patina of satin smoothness, were loaned to the
