next year would see the fruition of its fondest dreams and hopes, as a building was erected on the "Drake property" purchased.
In the beginning of the year, Dr. Lindsey was again appointed as Stated Supply Pastor for the church, and he was just what the church needed. Bay St. Louis was then a small town, with the greater percentage of its residents retired, elderly people and a large portion of the property owners (nearly one-half) merely "summer" or "weekend" people, i.e.. "second" home families.
Shortly after the beginning of the year, the officers of the church were Pastor:	Reverend	Dr.
E.A. Lindsey; Elders: Mr. W.P. McCutchon, Mr. T.T. Reboul, and Dr. W.C. Russo; Deacons:	Mr. C.G.
Schaefer, Chairman, Mr. S.K. Kepner, Treasurer, Mr.
E.F. Gates, and Col. P.S. Finn, Jr.; and Trustees: Mr. E.F. Gates, Mr. K.S. Rheams and Mr. T.T. Reboul.
During the year, the following members were received into the church: Miss Joan Sylva, Mr. and Mrs. A.D. Whitlow, Mr. and Mrs. E.J. Loflin, Mr. George C. Prewitt, and Mrs. and Mrs. Joseph Trest and their four	children Mary L.,	Gracie J., Jennie
S.	and Robert	Bryce. Letters	of dismissal were
issued to out of town churches for Mrs. Jan Pinnell and Mrs. H.G. Wingo.
However, the congregation was saddened by the untimely death of Mrs. Anne McCutchon, wife of Mr. W.P. McCutchon, on August 9, 1961. Mrs. McCutchon was tragically shot by accident by her son. The Session on August 14, 1961 passed a resolution with regard to her passing, which read, in part, as follows:
Mrs. McCutchon was a wife, mother, daughter, and sister of high character. We think of her as one of the "Elect ladies." She was an active and inspiring member of the church --always ready to do her share of the Lord?s work, and	would have become the President of
the Women	of the Church on	October 1st. The
family, the church, and the community have lost a great Christian, a loyal friend, and a citizen of good works. It was a blessing to have her in our midst.... May the heritage of
