Feb	Compte	de Pontchartrain interviewed Iberville secretly aboaut commanding
the expedition to the mouth of the Faher of Waters.
Jun 04 - Pontchartrain ordered the overhaul of Badine, a 32 gun frigate and to fit out Marin, a 38 gun frigate: accompanied by the traversiers, Pretieuse and Voyageur.
Sep 05 - Flotilla departed La Rochelle, but Marin began taking on water forcing them to put in at Brest of October 7.

Feb 10 - Iberville and Bienville landed at Ship Island
13	- Iberville and Bienville came ashore near Beauvoire
14	- Went ashore in present-day Ocean Springs, found old and ill Indian. Captured
a woman, gave her presents to give her people.
15	- Captured three additional Indians. Elderly Indian died.
16	- Overcast. Invited three Indians aboard ship.
17	- The 3 Indians took presents to their tribe on the Pascoboula nine leagues to
the East.
18	- Iberville left for the Pascoboula, spent night ashore.
19	- Iberville boarded LaBadine for supplies for his trip to the Mississippi.
21	- Iberville and Bienville set out to locate the Mississippi (Sharff)
22	- Departed with Mr. de Surgeres for rendezvous with the two biscaynes which
did not arrive. (deAbbadie)
23	- Gale force winds. Unable to navagate.
25	- de Surgeres returned to La Marin and sent Bienville to to find the two
biscaynes and the Indians. The Indians had run out of food and had returned to their village.
26	- Iberville sent Messrs. Desjourdays and La Villautrey to sound the Pascaboula
27	- Set out with Sauvolle, Bienville, and about 48 men to visit the Mississippi.

28	- Traversed Berton Sound Mar 01 - Rained throughout the day.

30	- Built Signal fire. Bettersworth said location was BSL, McWilliams said it was
at site of original landing (Beauvoir)
31	- Both parties returned to Ship Island within an hour of each other
