other grand gatherings and celebrations.
Historic cemeteries, homes to tour, food to taste, and bay breezes to feel, are awaiting the many visitors yet to come.
Buccaneer State Park and Water Park, the busiest in the Mississippi State Park system, is a family’s delight. Water slides, a huge wave pool, kiddies and adult pools, RV and primitive camping, and a Disc Golf course are but a few of the enjoyable activities offered in Waveland's Buccaneer Park.
Down Beach Boulevard in Waveland is the Waveland Fishing Pier, open to the public. This very large, well lighted pier is open 24 hours a day and offers the additional benefit of a guard on the site.
Kiln, (pronounced as The Kill, the home of Brett Favre, quarterback for the Green Bay Packers, is home to our,	top-of-the-line
Equestrian and Fair Grounds, the site of the first Hancock County Rodeo.
McLeod Water Park in Kiln is a beautiful picnic and camp grounds where you can fish, swim or paddle a canoe on the river's bend.
Also, the Stennis international
Airport has recently been much enhanced and can handle almost any type or size aircraft, including the “Space Shuttle.”
Diamondhead, a resort community, offers two championship golf courses, three pools, resort condos, two hotels and Tennis World’s 12 championship clay courts.
This community attracts thousands of golfers, tennis players and other visitors every year. Their latest feature is the new stunning clubhouse, a fabulous addition to Hancock County's convention and banquet capabilities.
Yes, our location is one of the major attractions to travel professionals, also to the amateurs who venture out on their own. We are located on the beautiful Gulf Coast, 25 miles west of Biloxi and Gulfport and only 40 miles east of New Orleans.
This, to tour professionals and individual tourist, is a very important part in their planning a successful tour and vacation travel itinerary. The Hancock County Tourism Development Bureau is here to show them all the way!
Come, be a tourist in our backyard, Hancock County!
