H. W. BROWN is a life long- resident of Hancock County; his father, J. T. Brown is one of the highly esteemed farmers and stock raisers of this section of the County. Mr. Brown received his education at the local schools, and at the Wiggins High School; he has been actively identified with commercial affairs for the past six years, formerly conducting a general store at Richardson, Miss. Mr. Brown has a well stocked general store at Logtown and a branch store

near Pearlington; he has on hand a full assortment of groceries, dry goods, notions, shoes, fresh fruit and vegetables, as well as crockery, tinware, and a large stock of feed stuffs; he owns one of the attractive homes here, and takes an active part in all movements for the upbuilding of this section; he is prominent in fraternal circles, as a Woodman and a Columbian Woodman.
F.	GUTIERREZ has been successfully established as a merchant for the past twelve years; he was born and reared at Pearlington, in the same house that he now lives in. For years Mr. Gutierrez was connected with the mercantile department of the Poitevant-Favre Lumber Company; his is the principal store at Pearlington, the building is fully one hundred feet in depth, and there is a large well stocked warehouse in the rear. Mr. Gutierrez has 011 hand a full line of groceries, dry goods, shoes, hats, clothing, feed, hardware,

furniture, farming implements, besides a complete drug department, with a $4,000 00 stock of drugs, and a registered pharmacist in charge, who is licensed in both Mississippi and Louisiana. Mr. Gutierrez has property interests, he is a prominent member of the Masons, the Woodmen, Woodmen’s Circle, K of P., and the Junior Benevolent Association; he takes a leading interest in all movements for the up-building of 44 this section.
