Bay Saint Louis, Mississippi 39520 Dear Mr. Baxter:
I am pleased to advise that the Board of Trustees of the Department of Archives and History, at its meeting on January 28, 1977, voted to award an official state historical marker to Our Lady of the Gulf, the first Catholic church in Hancock County. By copy of this letter, I am requesting Norman Chronister, research assistant, Division of Historic Sites and Archaeology, to proceed with ordering this marker immediately in order that it might be available for your dedication ceremony on May 9, 1977.
We appreciate your interest in historic preservation and hope that you will call on this Department whenever we can be of service to you.
I
Sincerely,
Elbert R. Hilliard
