Facts about The Library Foundation
Library services in Mississippi by law are supported by local governments. In Hancock County, the governments of Bay St. Louis, Waveland and Hancock County have agreed by contract to maintain a city-county library system of services.
As one of its purposes, The Library Foundation is committed to supporting the library system board of trustees' ongoing efforts to obtain better local government funding as authorized under state law.
In addition, The Library Foundation seeks individual and corporate gifts to supplement governmental support of the library system to provide the citizens of Bay St. Louis, Waveland and Hancock County a superior system of library and information services.

A gift to the library is a gift to the community!
The long awaited, renovated and enlarged City-County Public Library will open its doors in Spring, 1995. The beautifully designed new library will offer many dynamic services and serve the community well as we move into the next century.
The new 17,000 square foot library will feature space for 100,000 books, videos, books on tape, compact discs, magazines and more. There will be a quiet study area, the Margaret Hicks Shadoin Children's Library, a large multipurpose room for special library programs and community use, computers for public use and other informational resources.
The Library Foundation of Hancock County is pleased to present this Gift List which offers you an opportunity to be a part of our exciting new library. You may choose to contribute toward a specific gift, or make a general contribution so the most needed items may be purchased first. Thousands of library users for years to come will enjoy the generosity of your gift.
