Horatio Weston home
Logtown was one the leading communities in Hancock County for many years. The community was taken over by the federal government in the early 1960’s for the construction of what is now the John C. Stennis Space Center. The photo above is of the Horatio Weston Sr. home in Logtown. The Westons were among the early settlers of Logtown. (Photo courtesy of Mildred Otis' Fountain, who furnished copies to the Hancock County Historical Society, Bay St. Louis. The Historical Society is collecting copies of old photos, 467-4090, of Bay St. Louis.) The Echo welcomes photos older than 25 years for publication. They will be returned to their owners.
