This place is situated one and a half miles north of Kississippi City and has a nopulation of ^50-
In the line of manufactures it has three sav mills and planers with a capacity of 50,000, 30,000 and 20,000 feet respectively; two shipyards that construct ocean-going vessels for the Cuban and Mexican trade; brick yard with steam dry kiln, the capacity of the plant being 6,000,000 bricks a year; has public school and the Gulf Coast Kale and Female College; has five white and two colored churches; and ten mercantile houses.
It is situated on Bayou Bernard and has excellent fishing advantages.
Has two daily mails and one st-r route mail.
