On Saturday, March 5, 1960, the photo above was taken one minute after the close of 125 hours and 31 minutes of continuous Senate debate, the longest in Senate history. Three senators held the floor the last day: from left, Sen. Stennis, Sen. Herman E. Talmadge of Ga., and Sen. Russell Long of La.
Sen. Stennis, photo below, is joined by Mississippi and Kemper County officials at the groundbreaking ceremony at DeKalb to launch construction of the new Kemper County Industrial Incubator Center.
