' 000^9	*'BAY ST* L0UIS GAZETTE" NEWSPAPER
TEASED BY BIG NEW ORLEANS PAPER April l1*, 1868
The "Bay St. Louis Gazette" claims to be an exception among
country papers in respect to giving local news, the deficiency of
vhich in such papers is so often spoken of by the city press.
The "Gazette" has rightfully made this claim. With all the
barrenness of its back country, it makes a most bountiful crop,
and vill bring out Hancock County as victoriously as his long
career as a soldier and brief one as a civilian will the General
of that name. (MJS note:	refer	to U.S. Major General Winfield
S. Hancock - candidate for U. S. President)
