Ocean Springs has been a C.G.R.S. since 1981. Two other people, one in Alabama and one in Texas, are also certified to do Mississippi research.
The late Richard S. Lackey of Forest,
Miss, was the president of the board until his death this year. Vice president, Neil D. Thompson has assumed these duties.
HANCOCK DATA IN PUBLICATION The newest issue of the Mississippi Coast Historical and Genealogical Society publication features tombstone inscriptions from several Hancock County Cemeteries ; and Baptismal Book I of Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church.
The largest portion of the book is devoted to an alphabetized and concisely organized record of baptisms at Our Lady of the Gulf?' Church in Bay St. Louis.

range from the late 1840s to the early 1860s. J This is such a valuable source for early Catholic families.
The cemeteries in the issue include: Gainesville Cemetery, copied by Frances Cook and Mrs. Earl Cook Hastings; the Favre-Fayard Cemetery, by Tim Wallis; the Fenton Sand Hill Cemetery, by David P. Mallet and the Dobey Cemetery. The person who copied the Dobey records is unknown.
Those who become members of the society receive each of the three annual issues of the publication, which is always valuable to researching Coast families.
